Some people may read this strip as making fun of engineers, which it is to some degree. However, I really see it as more making fun of the extremes to which teachers will go to try to interest students in a class they’re completely disinterested in. If you’ve ever taught, you’ve had that moment of realization like Professor Hobo in this strip. No matter what you do, your students are fundamentally more interested in Halo.
