The Golden Globes are airing while I type this (though on no TV of mine), and the Academy Awards are coming up in a few short weeks. Given that, I thought I would take some time to highlight a few films you may have overlooked in 2012. These are, for the most part, not big Hollywood films. However, many are just as enjoyable and worthy of your attention as those big Hollywood award nomination magnets. Two years ago we started a series of strips chronicling the entire Ten Commandments from the Bible. It’s actually much harder to make jokes about the Ten Commandments than you might think. We valued being respectful (we’re both Christian), but we knew there were humorous tweaks to be made. So if you enjoy them, please share with your friends and let us know if you’d like to see similar series. First Commandment – Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

So, your silly English teacher wants you to learn poetry, huh? Let’s be honest, you might be more interested in sonnets and sestinas if these poets were more liberal with their Xs and Os. Considering they’re not, and many of the ones you’re assigned are long dead and unable to adapt their work for you, perhaps there is another way to appreciate the wordsmiths? Let’s take William Blake’s “The Lamb” as an example. It’s a poem commonly taught in high school and the introductory level in college. It hails from Blake’s Songs of Innocence, a book of poetry that is…

So, what’s going on? Apparently there’s an online quiz that has become the little sensation. The “Prof or Hobo Quiz” asks participants to look at some pictures and evaluate are the men pictured college professors, or hobos. Sound familiar to a certain comic strip? Well, sort of.…

When the local zoo is running low on funds, there’s only one way to save it–a rock ‘n roll show! But just like rock ‘n roll, there’s some nasty alongside the sweet as students battle to save the zoo from itself. Unlike a lot of other recent episodes, this one is quite lengthy and therefore took a fairly large group of people many months to complete.  It should have been shorter, but life sometimes gets in the way of such things. Trivia The opening with Westin was a last minute addition.  The cold opening felt like it better tied elements…

Victoria has been a favorite character of ours for a while. Straight-laced, British, and above general silliness, she works as an excellent foil to almost any other character. That’s probably why she pops up often to roll her eyes for the audience.

So here’s some helpful advice that might put your final exams into a better perspective. Your professors don’t want to grade anymore than you want to take tests Many students have a strange belief that professors spend all of their free time reveling in the grading process. On the…
