I always figure this is how customer service people should treat customers. No, not give them pornography, but give them the tools of their own destruction. I think it would make it a more rewarding job.

Advisors having to register students is always a good idea until you see what actually goes on. They try their best, but they’re usually only slightly less clueless than students.

Coach T is so proud of everything he says, does, thinks, or perhaps even passes by on the street. Pairing him with someone arrogant like President Czar usually results in humor, regardless of what we do. This is assembly line humor.

We had a bit of trouble with this strip. The last line went through about three rewrites. It originally referenced Raiden, the Japanese god of thunder. We ended up thinking that was perhaps too vague, and for most people an old fashioned Zeus call out would work best.

This strip originates from watching a real college football practice in the rain. It didn’t seem safe, but more than that it didn’t seem like much fun. I would have taken an umbrella with me while I ran drills.

This is a country music styled joke. A lot of country songs are built around a repeating chorus that in the last verse changes its meaning. This joke works the same way. It’s the Conway Twitty of comic strips.

This is the kind of joke that the English major in me loves. That means about 99% of the population probably hates it. One debate was whether the people on the ride should be reacting or not. We decided the joke might be too heady if they were simply sitting expressionless through it.

This is just sort of a classic riff on that old joke that someone orders a huge meal in a restaurant and then a diet soda. People have good intentions, and every bit helps, but I think we’re lying to ourselves a bit. Lying to yourself is always funny.
