Duck Duck Goose

Sometimes the best comic ideas come from real conversations. In this case, the core idea came from a conversation about how many games played as a child are kind of mean. I like the idea of a philosophical take on such games that is both pretentious and scarily on target.

HOBO: Who would like to share their reflective essay first? Billy?

BILLY: When I think back, I realize Duck, Duck, Goose is a game of existential despair. There's no game master like in musical chairs. Instead, you're banished to the outside of the innercircle helplessly trying to outwit someone back in. God has forsaken us beyond the circle and will offer no help in redemption.

BILLY: It's like a game of make-pretend you're Lucifer in Purgatory.
MEGAN: My inner-child just took a bottle of sleeping pills.
