There are always about five more steps involved in any meeting than seem necessary. I don’t think there’s a meeting I attend where I don’t receive at least three or four emails beforehand relating to it. There must be a quota for the number of contact instances managers must make.

CZAR: No, I'll send you an email to set up a time to call. Then we can discuss a good time for a meeting.
HOBO: That seems like an unnecessary number of steps.
CZAR: You think so? Maybe we should meet to discuss reducing the number of steps?
