Professor Hobo is the creation of Justin Young and David Rothwell. The two created the comic strip originally in 2001 for The Murray State News, the college paper of Murray State University located surprisingly in Murray, KY. The comic soon found a cult audience and a year later would premiere as an animated production on MSU TV-11, a local cable channel.
Since those early days, Professor Hobo cartoons have aired at film festivals, received awards, and aired on the College Sports Television (CSTV) cable channel. The comic strip itself has won two awards.
