No, this comic isn’t about how all modern art is a sham. That’s not true. But it is about all people take simple understandings of concepts and try to exploit them in what ends up hilarious ways. I’ll leave the art debate to art critics.

Did Harry Potter’s magic protect him from muggle firearms? Is there a spell that makes you bulletproof? I honestly don’t remember.
Still, a crossover between RoboCop and Harry Potter could prove interesting. Half man, half machine meets half blood? Think of the possibilities.

This strip stemmed from two separate frustrations. One, that I tried to see the new Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows film over the weekend, only to find it sold out each time I went by the theater. Two, that I have on several occasions been interested in seeing a film only to find myself thwarted by every perceivable distribution method (DVD, Blu-ray, rent, purchase, Redbox, Netflix, iTunes, and even pirating). The moral? Some stories are perhaps best left untold.

The concept for this strip doesn’t stray too far from reality. Many colleges and universities are cancelling traditional literature courses in favor of these types of “pop culture” courses The argument is to give students what they want, but if that were the case wouldn’t we give them a free degree with a box of doughnuts? Mmm, doughnuts.
There’s an animosity between President Czar and the faculty that borders on the absurd. How long has he had this comeback planned? Surely he has been waiting for someone to complain just for the chance to deliver it. That sounds about right for most management types.

Harry Potter is great fun, and what could be more fun than seeing Harry Potter with a date? This is the kind of strip that normally gets us in trouble, because half the audience is convinced it’s the dirtiest and most offensive thing they’ve ever read. The other half? They laugh. I like to think strips like this say far more about the dirty mindedness of our audience (by way of how they intrepret it) than it does about us.
