I have a cat who I joke has won this award two years running. The idea that the National Audubon Society would attempt to mock one cat a year amuses me. In truth, it must be sort of embarrassing for any cat that goes through life without hunting one other creature successfully. I know that’s why you buy them toy mice and such, but surely they know better. I think there’s a business idea there–local stores you can take your cat to and pay for an hour of them hunting mice and birds in a controlled environment. Sound sick and twisted? That’s what they said about Google, too.

This is actually fairly accurate to many students who cheat. They often will mix plagiarized writing with things they’ve completely made up. Some may get away it, but usually it stands out like a sore thumb in a stack of papers. It’s almost always easier just to do the work.

Nothing is worse than someone trying to correct grammar only to be proven wrong. There’s an awkwardness that just sort of hangs in the air for a while. It’s usually a good idea to avoid such situations by simply not being a pretentious jerk. Actually, that’s decent advice for all of life.

There’s always this type of person at every workplace. They’re not always in marketing–just most of the time. Why are they always so positive? Are they mocking me? I rarely accomplish anything in meetings with them around. I’m too suspicious, which is apparently the best quality I could possibly have, according to Harry.

There’s a lot of fear expressed by young men that they will be falsely accused of sexual assault. I’m not sure how common this is, but many pontificate on the subject so much that you’d assume it’s an hourly occurrence. This does not seem to be the case. I’d wager it’s more an issue the other way.
And what is the deal with Herman Cain?

Students tell me all the time that they don’t read. Yet they spend endless time parked in front of a computer. I know they’re not spending all that time watching YouTube or playing games. Heck, even most computer games require a fair amount of reading. Then there’s the fact that nearly every waking moment spent away from a computer is spent with their face buried in another electronic screen. They’re reading; they simply may not be reading anything of quality.

If you’re unaware, a woman really is suing the distributors of Drive because she thought it looked like another Fast and Furious type film. It’s not. While I might have some qualms with Drive, make no mistake about what kind of film it is. It’s an art house film with very light trappings of a car chase film.
Still, who sues because they don’t like a movie?

I may have been a little bitter when I wrote this strip. This weekend I saw 50/50 starring Seth Rogen. I could have done with 50% less Seth Rogen in the film. Before the movie even began I had to watch a trailer for Katherine Heil’s new film, One for the Money. It’s a trailer so bad you assume someone had to be making it as a spoof, but alas that is not the case.
Don’t even get me started on watching them together in Knocked Up. I know lots of people love it, but since I can’t stand either lead, it’s really hard for me to find enjoyment in it.

As one can guess, this strip was inspired by an actual event at a movie theater. I’m all for people enjoying the movie, but why do some people feel the need to repeat lines of dialogue back at the screen? What does this do for some people? Please, see another movie.

This amused me that within days two people called press conferences to announce that they wouldn’t be doing something. How bizarre is that? That’s politics, and honestly is probably a bad sign when the populace is begging people to enter the race and they will not.
