    Academic arguments are always the funniest when they’re just barely wrong. You agree with Professor Hobo that it almost makes sense, and then in the same instant Jimmy undermines his own credibility. Self-defeatism is at the core of most comedy.

    JIMMY: I was drawing a parallel between the decline of the American dream and the corruption of the modern work environment on our fragile psyches.
